| 50Hz Screening
Electro Magnetic Field (EMF) levels can be determined by site measurement. The findings are expressed in (µT) and are used as part of a calculation to determine the required screening performance or attenuation expressed in (dB).
Protection for people and equipment from the effects of EMF is achieved by utilising the properties of high permeability materials like Mu metal but more commonly low carbon steels.
Materials typically range from 0.5mm to 12mm thick, with screen continuation achieved by mechanical lamination or full penetration welding methods, generally dictated by site specific circumstances. Correct shield design is of paramount importance to eradicate an existing problem or to provide a guaranteed level of future protection.
