Screening applications that require a lower level of performance typically around 40dB – 60dB attenuation depending on material jointing methods are achieved through the correct use of thin gauge soft Copper or Aluminium. Other materials promoted for this category of screening are metalised cloth and coated plastics, they are however, generally more expensive and only available in smaller pieces requiring more joints, which defeats the object as, ‘’a shield is as good as it’s weakest link’’ and joints are potential weak links!
